Sunday: Chesterfield canal “Volunteer day”

Just BTW: there’s a “follow” button at the top of the page, feel free to use it.
I understand it emails you when I post.

(which won’t be that often: I’m an idle fellow)

Up with the lark (what a depressing phrase – who the hell wants to be up before dawn?). Going to go to Chesterfield Canal Trust’s “Volunteer Day” at Hollingwood.

Bus leaves Hardy St at 10:35, so time for a stroll before then. Glad I did: five swans leaving the pond where they’ve overnighted. Leaving two behind.
It was a rather murky morning: they’re not B&W’d, that’s the real colour.

The “WHUMP … WHUMP … WHUMP … WHUMP … WHUMP …” of their wing beats is really loud as they pass overhead.
